On 13th of May, we shall start at 7:30am from city center and 7:50am from checkpoint Charlie, leave Keukenhof at 3pm, head towards the beach and will return to Enschede by 8pm. The cost includes bus journey to Keukenhof, beach and back, and also the entry ticket (quite a nice deal ;-) )

Holi 2012- The festival of colours

Holi is a spring festival celebrated widely in India (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holi). During this event participants throw colours at each other and celebrate the arrival of spring. The Indian Student association at the University of Twente is celebrating holi on May 12 2012. The Colours and Indian snacks will be arranged by us. Thursday 1st Oct @ Bowling Enschede,Colosseum: Bowling is a fun activity for all ages and that's why ISA decided to throw a bowling party to all the ISA members on 1st October . More than fifteen members with their family attended this Bowling event. The event started at 6:30pm.The complete set of people was divided into 2 groups. The first group was headed by Hanumanth Singh and the other team was headed by Vijay. The first game went upto 7:30. In between cold drinks were provided with yummy hot finger chips. Since the second team was performing badly Vijay helped them with some good shots. The second game started at 7:30 with few more people and it went till 8. In both the matches Hanumanth's team won . There was a huge difference between the scores in the first match as the other team was filled with freshers J. But thanks to the entry of a hero(i dont know the name).... who gave extremly good shots to the latter team in the second match, Hanumanth's team won narrowly in that match. We all had a good social interaction with positive reinforcement.
We
all enjoyed it and will appreciate such kind of events from ISA.Thanks to ISA
for such a good entertainment.

Holi, Festival of Colors
Holi was fantastically celebrated with many international students especially from ESN (Erasmus Student Network). Ironically, we had few Indians this time but still the event was triumphant.
We have started the event around 14:30 by distributing colors and the momentum was quickly built among everyone. Within minutes, I could not see anyone without colors and people are eager to put more colors. Any fresh face would have been colored within seconds. Actually, it was amazing to see how well versed these International students are now with playing colors and how energetic they are.
We later played Sack Race, Tug of War and many other games as the weather was just perfect, thanks to a sunny and bright day. Having exhausted all the energy by coloring and playing, we are replenished with delicious food: Pav Vaada, Veg. Puffs and Veg. Pulav. It took us two complete days to plan, shop and prepare the food but at the end all our effort has paid off as everyone enjoyed it. Delicious food would not have been possible without the help and experience of Visakha and Meenakshi. They were incredible and quick in making food for so many people which minimized the costs of this event by atleast 75%.

Republic Day Special
On the occasion of the Republic Day of India on January 26th, ISA@UT organized a get together in the Vesting Bar on 29th January at 19:30 hrs. The gathering was followed by a Movie on Sardar Vallabhai Patel, The Iron Man of India, a man who is known for his inestimable work in forming an united, integrated and independent Indian nation.
